Methyl Bromide Detection Tubes 0.5/a (0.5 - 30 ppm)

For short-term measurements more than 160 Drager Tubes are available to measure the so called spot concentrations of specific gases.

A wide range of different gases and vapors can be detected and measured, such as:

  • Determining and measuring concentration peaks
  • Measuring personal exposure in the inhalation area
  • Detecting leaks in pipelines, gas installations etc.
  • Air analysis in sewers, shafts and confined spaces
Standard Measuring Range: 5 to 30 / 0.5 to 5 ppm
Number of Strokes (n): 2 / 8
Time for Measurement: approx. 2 min / approx. 5 min.
Standard Deviation: ± 15 to 20 %
Color Change: white -> blue green
Temperature: 2 to 40 ° C
Absolute Humidity: max. 20 mg H2O / L
Reaction Principle: a) CH3Br + H2S2O7 -> HBr
b) HBr + CrVI -> Br2
c) Br2 + o-tolidine -> blue green reaction product
Cross Sensitivity: Vinyl chloride: 2 ppm no reading.

Carbon tetrachloride: 2 ppm no reading

Perchloroethylene and Trichloroethylene: 5 ppm changes the indicating layer to a light yellow.

1.2-dichloroethylene: 20 ppm result in a reading of approx. 3 ppm.

1.1-dichloroethylene: up to 2 ppm the sensitivity is the same as with methyl bromide.
