Dimethyl Sulfide Detection Tubes 1/a (1 - 15 ppm)

For short-term measurements more than 160 Draeger-Tubes are available to measure the so-called spot concentrations of specific gases. A wide range of different gases and vapours can be detected and measured, e.g.: Determining and measuring concentration peaks, Measuring personal exposure in the inhalation area, Detecting leaks in pipelines, gas installations etc., and Air analysis in sewers, shafts and confined spaces.

Contains 10 tubes

Standard Measuring Range1 to 15 ppm
Number of Strokes (n)20
Time for Measurementapprox. 15 min.
Standard Deviation±15 to 20%
Colour Changeviolet ─> yellow brown
Temperature15 to 30° C
Absolute Humidity< 20 mg H2O / L
Reaction Principle(CH3)2S + KMnO4> MN^IV + various
oxidation products
Cross SensitivityMany organic compounds with C=C double
bonds are indicated as well, but with different
sensitivities. It is impossible to differentiate
between them.

H2S (hydrogen sulfide) is indicated with approx.
twice the sensitivity. The tube H2S 5/b can be
used as a filtering tube.

Then, n=20 pump strokes approx. 30 ppm H2S
is retained. Methyl mercaptan is indicated
with approximately twice the sensitivity.
