n-butanol Detection Tubes 10/a (10-250 ppm)
For short-term measurements more than 160 Draeger-Tubes are available to measure the spot concentrations of specific gases. Measurement usually takes between 4 seconds and 15 minutes. The tubes are used either manually with the Draeger-Tube Accuro Pump or automatically with the Draeger X-act 5000.
A wide range of different gases and vapors can be detected and measured, such as:
- Determining and measuring concentration peaks
- Measuring personal exposure in the inhalation area
- Detecting leaks in pipelines, gas installations etc.
- Air analysis in sewers, shafts and confined spaces

Reaction Principle:
|
n-butanol + organometallic compound? green reaction product
|
|
Cross Sensitivity:
|
The tube does not differentiate between different alcohols. 2-butanol is indicated with the same sensitivity. During the measurement of isobutanol with n = 2/10 strokes, the concentration read must be multiplied by a factor of 0.4. During the measurement of tert-butanol with n = 2/10 strokes, the concentration read must be multiplied by a factor of 3.0.Methanol is indicated with 2 times (n=10) to 3 times (n=2) its sensitivity, ethanol and isopropanol are indicated with 1 time (n=1) to 2 times (n=2) their sensitivity. Higher molecular alcohols are indicated with significantly decreasing sensitivity. Ethers are indicated with a different sensitivity. ? 25 ppm formaldehyde, ? 50 ppm acetaldehyde, and ? 50 ppm toluene are not indicated. Aliphatic petroleum hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, halogenated hydrocarbons and benzene are not indicated.
