Radiation Alert Wipe Test Plates

The Radiation Alert Wipe Test Plates are a swipe sample holder accessory for the Ranger radiation survey meters. The stainless steel radiation Wipe Test Plate slides easily onto the back of the unit, positioning the depression and wipe directly in front of the GM tube window at a fixed distance of 1 centimeter. The Wipe Test Plate is removable for general surveying. Many customers using the Ranger Wipe Test Plate also use it as a Beta Shield for the 2-inch GM detector.

The Wipe Test Plate is commonly used with Test Swipes to check surfaces contaminated with radioactivity. These convenient, easy-to-use cloth discs have individual record folders and can be used to perform wipe tests as indicated in NRC and Agreement State Regulations. Boxes contain 25, 100, or 500 record folders, which can be used to easily identify each sample smear. This helps prevent cross-contamination of smears while transferring smears to the counting facility, or storing smears until discarded. Smears have slightly adhesive back for keeping your sample exactly where you need it to be.
