Trichloroethane Detection Tubes 50/d (50 - 600 ppm)
For short-term measurements more than 160 Draeger-Tubes are available to measure the spot concentrations of specific gases. Measurement usually takes between 4 seconds and 15 minutes. The tubes are used either manually with the Draeger-Tube Accuro Pump or automatically with the Draeger X-act 5000.
A wide range of different gases and vapors can be detected and measured, such as:
- Determining and measuring concentration peaks
- Measuring personal exposure in the inhalation area
- Detecting leaks in pipelines, gas installations etc.
- Air analysis in sewers, shafts and confined spaces
Trichloroethane Detection Tubes 50/d (50 - 600 ppm)
Standard Measuring Range: |
50 to 600 ppm |
Number of strokes n: |
2 + 3 desorption strokes in clean air |
Time for Measurement: |
approx. 1.5 min |
Standard Deviation: |
 10 to 15 % |
Color Change: |
gray ??> brown red |
Temperature: |
15 to 40 C |
Absolute Humidity: |
5 to 15 mg HO / L |
Reaction Principle: |
a) 1,1,1-trichloroethane + IO3-/H2S2O7 ??> Cl2 b) Cl2+ o-tolidine ??> brown red reaction product |
Cross Sensitivity: |
Other chlorinated hydrocarbons are indicated, but with different sensitivities.
In the presence of aromatic hydrocarbons the indication is too low (e.g. 200 ppm 1,1,1-trichloroethane and 200 ppm toluene, the reading amounts to 1/4 only, i.e. 50 ppm). |
