Fire Cloak 8 m x 6 m EV Battery Fire Blanket
Developed through extensive research and innovation, the Fire Cloak USA EV Car Fire Blanket is designed to effectively contain fires in smaller electric and hybrid vehicles.
One of the most common causes of fire in these vehicles is damage to the high-energy battery or a manufacturing defect that leads to a short circuit. This can trigger thermal runaway, a dangerous phenomenon in which compromised battery cells rapidly overheat, sparking a fire. As the blaze spreads, nearby cells are affected, creating a domino effect that engulfs the entire battery system.
Lithium-ion batteries contain electrolytes with hydrocarbon solvents, which act as fuel for the fire. If left uncontrolled, this can result in extremely high temperatures. Deploying an EV Car Fire Blanket helps suppress combustion by cutting off oxygen supply, significantly reducing fire intensity and temperature. This containment strategy helps minimize damage to nearby vehicles and property.
The EV Car Fire Blanket is designed for quick and easy deployment by two people and comes with a protective storage bag for convenient handling and transport.

***Fire Resistance Testing: Samples were submitted to Intertek® and furnace testing to 800°C was conducted. The material, whilst compromised, retained is structure and was deemed effective for the intended purpose.
NOTE: Whilst EV fires can reach core temperatures exceeding 1,300°C, the surface temperature of the vehicle body will be much lower than this. Once deployed the EV Car Fire Blanket reduces temperature rapidly by depriving the fire of Oxygen. This allows the EV Car Fire Blanket to perform effectively within its fire resistance ratings.
